A Hand turned jacaranda wood bowl or vase with live edge. A design in burnt wood, spirals around the vessel ending at the top. the interior has also been burnt to highlight the grain and interior, contrasting with the natural yellow colour of the wood on the exterior. The design is inspired by the age old Japanese technique of burning wood, called Shou Sugi Ban or Yakisugi, which is a natural way of protecting and enhancing the natural patterns and flaws in the wood.
